Krispy Kreme Bread Pudding
Okay y’all, I took several recipes and blended them together for this. You can use any glazed doughnut, but I used Krispy Kreme. One tip: you need to use stale doughnuts, so buy them a day or two before you want to make the recipe.
Ingredients:
1 dozen stale Krispy Kreme glazed doughnuts (any glazed doughnuts will do)
4 eggs
1 cup whole milk
1¼ cups heavy cream
½ cup brown sugar
½ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 3.5 to 4oz dark chocolate bar (I used this one)
1/3 cup heavy cream
1 tbs bourbon
Directions:
Grease a 9x13 casserole pan.
Cut doughnuts into quarters and spread evenly through the pan.
In a medium bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, heavy cream, brown sugar, salt, and vanilla extract.
Pour over doughnuts. Press doughnuts into liquid to moisten. Let sit in the fridge for at least an hour, up to overnight.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Place baking dish in oven uncovered and bake for 45 minutes. After 30 minutes, check to see if the tops are browning and, if too brown, cover with foil.
To make sauce, place chocolate, cream, and bourbon in a small sauce pan on low heat. Whisk till melted and smooth. Drizzle over the individual slices of bread pudding after plating.
